Fertell, the couple's fertility test kit

“…the home test is easier to face than a clinic visit.”

Newsweek

I like the idea that my husband and I are in charge – that this is something we can do together.

This makes me feel like there is one more thing we can do on our own. We don’t have to wait for our doctor. The control is back in our hands, and there is something active we can do to figure out what is going on. That’s a great feeling.

$100 is a good value for peace of mind and to get information early on.

My patients will like Fertell because they can do it at home. They don’t need to take time off of work, pay the co-pay, worry about insurance, wait 6 to 12 months.

Fertell is something that my patients can do at home to get a baseline on their fertility. It’s accurate and a great way to see what is going on. What a great product!

Fertell is an important first step for couples trying to conceive.

Fertell- Male test

The male fertility test measures the concentration of motile sperm, which are the sperm that can readily swim to fertilize an egg. Natural fertilization is unlikely if the concentration of motile sperm is too low. That is why simply measuring a sperm count is of limited value and why measuring sperm motility is crucial.

How does it work? The Fertell Male Fertility Test challenges the sperm to swim up a fluid-filled chamber, mimicking the process that the sperm would go through inside the female’s body as it tries to reach the egg. The Fertell sperm test is technologically advanced, yet the design makes it easy to use. There are just a few simple steps.

Fertell- female test

The female fertility test measures the FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) as an indicator of ovarian reserve. High FSH indicates a low number of remaining eggs, and is an indicator for reduced fertility.

Simple to use.

The female fertility test is an easy-to-use urine dipstick, conducted similarly to pregnancy tests. The female test should be taken on Day 3 of your period and with first morning urine.

Fertell- Fertility test for men and women

The male fertility test involves producing a semen sample and then following a few simple steps, such as pushing a button and turning a switch. The male test should be taken at least 2 days (48 hours) after his last ejaculation. If he has not ejaculated within the last 7 days, he should ejaculate and then wait 2 days before producing a sample to perform the test.

How to use the Fertell male fertility test-

Load semen sample Close lid on fertility test Begin male fertility test

A semen sample is produced directly into the collection container and allowed to sit for 30 minutes.

The testing unit is then placed on top of the collection container.

Push the blue button down to begin the test.

What's happening inside-

Fertell male sperm test

Pressing the blue button will start an electronic timer and release a chemical solution into a “sperm swim-up chamber”, acting as a cervical fluid substitute. For the next 30 minutes, the sperm will try to swim through this fluid, which is warmed to body temperature. Those sperm that can swim through it are eventually coded red (these are the motile sperm). If there is a sufficient amount of motile sperm, they will appear as a second red line in the test result window.

Reading the results-

The results are based on the World Health Organization guideline (a minimum of 10 million motile sperm per milliliter of semen). If there are less than 10 million motile sperm, there will be no test line formed and the male should call his physician’s office for further discussion. Results are displayed by the number of lines showing in the result window.

One red line indicates the concentration of motile sperm is below the appropriate level and a doctor should be consulted.

Two red lines, no matter how faint or incomplete, indicates that the concentration of motile sperm is above the appropriate level. Your efforts of trying to conceive should continue.

Disclaimers – Fertell should not be used by women on birth control or those undergoing assisted reproductive techniques such as IVF or those taking fertility drugs containing FSH. For women who have recently stopped taking oral contraceptives, your cycle may take some time to stabilize. Wait until you have had two normal periods before you use the Fertell female test.
